We purchased Harriet in September 2014 and have offered her for hire since 2015. This means she has been meticulously maintained, with our mechanic going over everything each time she comes back from a hire.
In order to ensure reliability, we invested in a reconditioned 1600 engine from The VW Engine company in London, which is the company used by Just Kampers for all of their engine supplies. Their attention to detail is stunning and the engine looks, sounds and runs fantastically. We had the full turnkey service, so it’s as good as you can get!
Harriet has an original Devon Moonraker interior, with full length pop top roof, making her perfect for families. She has a new fridge, gas hob and sink, and has been upholstered in a cool green material with a ‘grass’ floor!.
We chose Harriet as she had been through a full, bare metal restoration, and we met the company that had done the work. Unfortunately, although we were promised the photographic evidence, it never arrived.
Harriet has a new fridge, original sink and gas hob, electric hook-up, leisure battery with split charger, LED lighting and the original table. She also has a Tom Tom sat nav wired into the dash.
Like all of our vans, Harriet is a “late-bay”. This means she was built after 1974, and most importantly has greatly improved crash protection features. This includes a crumple zone that was not present in earlier versions, and disc brakes at the front.
